As a local, I know firsthand that Fiji is an incredible destination for families looking for an unforgettable experience. With a range of activities to suit all ages, from snorkelling and swimming with sea turtles to exploring cultural villages and hiking through lush rainforests, there’s always something exciting to do. And with plenty of things to do with the kids, family-friendly accommodation options available, from luxury resorts to beachfront bure rentals, Fiji is the perfect place to create lifelong memories with your loved ones.

Mantaray Island in Fiji is an excellent destination for families looking for a fun-filled vacation. One of the highlights of Mantaray Island is the manta ray experience, where families can swim with these gentle giants of the sea. We spent four nights here during the first 2020 Covid Lockdown and were luckily invited to the island by the owners of the resort. We went with a small group of friends and had the best time because there were no other tourists there except us! The girls loved it. It was such a cool experience swimming with the Manta Rays, especially the famous Lady Grey. The hotel’s dive-master and team know them all and have given them all names. The island also offers guided hiking tours, cultural experiences, and island hopping tours, where families can visit nearby islands and explore their unique features.

This is our family’s favourite as its so easy to get to for the day. Malamala Island Beach Club is a private island beach club located in the Mamanuca chain of islands in Fiji. It offers a range of facilities and activities that make it suitable for families. The beach club has a large infinity pool, beachside cabanas, and a range of water sports, including snorkelling and kayaking, that families can enjoy together. Additionally, there is a restaurant and bars on the island that offer a variety of local and international cuisine options.
